The Traveling Man...
"The Traveling Man" was originally a song written by a questioning, searching youth while living in New York City. But actually, it was more than a song. It was a prophetic foreshadowing of how life was going to unfold, if this young man consciously chose to accept it and allow it.
The Traveling Man, set out on an intentional journey over five years ago in the search to "Know thy Self." Downsizing material possessions to only what would fit into an old Subaru and with limited resources, he began to travel. The only clear direction was an attempt to say "yes" to life and follow the leadings of his heart. This new way of living opened opportunities to share his song-writing music in coffee shops, at farm communities, in house-concerts, at churches, on the streets, in office buildings, at weddings, on rooftop concerts in NYC, at Birthday party's and anywhere people would invite him to sing.
With a growing faith in the Source which was guiding and sustaining his every step, he sold the broken down Subaru in Austin, Texas and continued the journey with only a bag and a guitar. The prophet lyric from the original song became true: "His bag, guitar and his own name, are all the things this traveling man can claim." He was learning to give up personal control, and surrender to Life's Highest Will and follow the Great Mystery. The traveling continued as well as the memorable, magical stories: busking on trains with a Gypsy in Spain, praying in Native American Sweat Lodges, working and staying on a sailboat in Amsterdam, Hitch-hiking from Maine to Colorado, moving to Hawaii with only $40 in his pocket.
In the midst of traveling, enough funds were donated from faithful friends and family to record the third album, this present album, "All I AM."
As a wise man from India once said, "The Truth is One; it is just in many parts."
